Embarking
in Genoa on the Neptunia with my painting material and the strong purpose to see
other countries and to learn english.
We
arrive in Melbourne where I find straight away a job in a factory making cars
batteries.
Beautiful
: sun, beaches, bracken, furious see throwing water on the rocks.
Then
suddenly a long period of impetuous rain.
A week in the train to
look for the sun in Queensland. Train full of yougoslaves, russishs, tchechs
etc. Going up in the nord looking for a job as sugar cane cutters. Every day the
train stop in a lost train station where we can eat sandwiches displayed on
boards streched outside. I am going out of the train, first in Ingham where I am
turning around with my travel mates under the overwhelming sun on the village
public square, waiting for an hypothetic job as sugar cane cutter. Without
succes. Finally I arrive in Cairns in 1963.
